Modular Board Add-ons- $30 Chasm, $40 wheat field, + $5/hill, $5/15 shims

The chasm and wheat field boards were created to be add-on's to the deluxe modular board set. The chasm was designed to retain a bottom to avoid the table surface showing through and to provide more structural integrity to the board. The wheat field was specified to accomodate a large warjack base (approximately 2" in diameter) in between the rows.

In developing the wheat field, I originally considered using the floor mats that are commonly chosen for miniature wargaming farming scenes. Looking at them closely however revealed that they were only about 1/2" (1.25cm) high and didn't present a realistic appearance for wheat which typically grows much higher. As a result I decided to hand 'plant' the field using Woodland Scenics field grass. This allowed me to increase the height significantly. To view a video of these two boards, see the Youtube video.

The hills shown in the second panel were created for the same order. It was requested that the hills be sloped in such a manner as to allow Warmachine models to stand on them. I learned later that several models can vary in their 'tippyness' depending on their poses. The warcaster shown has a significant lean towards the back making facing him uphill almost impossible. Rather than sand the hills down to nearly flat to accomadate only a few unbalanced models, I developed the shims shown which can easily be placed under the bases of models as needed to prevent them from tipping. These shims are stackable and very flexible. It is a system that could easily be expanded to accomadate Warhammer regiment bases for example.
