Hedgerows for 15mm Flames of War- $28/50 cm + extra for trees and/or fences

For this project, the customer provided me with the below photograph which appears on the Flames of War web site produced by Battlefront Miniatures.

In addition I researched what the actual hedgerows in Europe looked like, including their dimensions. These hedgerows played a major role in the conflict in various parts of Europe and proved to be a very difficult initial hurdle to the allied troops in their efforts to cross the landscape. The hedgerows were the remains of the stonewalls that had become extremely overgrown creating a thick vegetated barrier that hid enemy troops and vehicles well. They formed a grid of small farms with each being a blind alley of sorts to be fought over. This picture gives an idea of what the actual hedgerows looked like from above.

In addition to the above information, the customer gave me his specifications for the dimensions including the length and assortment of the various pieces. This order contained over 10m of hedgerows and included 8 fence sections and 12 trees, 4 'T' sections and 4 corner pieces. The hedgerows were 4 cm wide and stood from 3 - 5 cm high including the foliage (but not the trees). The bases were cut from extruded polystyrene and the stones were added to this.

These hedgerows are adaptable to many scales, very versatile, and look dramatic on a table en masse. As a result I decided to make them a regular addition to the TerranScapes line and developed a set of molds to allow them to now be cast in UltraCal30.

In these first two photos you can see how they fit well with both 15mm and 28mm scale models.
