These barriers were created to accompany Therian miniatures in the game AT-43. The Therian race prominently features a black and red motif with bright orange circles denoting openings in weapons and vehicles, and a red wash that emphasizes joints and plate unions. You can see this clearly in this photo of a Therian Bomb Bot.

The barriers reflect this styling while adhering to the basic footprint of the normal barriers sold for AT-43 use. The red shading at the plate unions did not photograph well, but is most visible in the diorama photograph at the bottom of the composite below.
